Misty Meadows offers a semestered lesson program. Maximum number of students in a lesson group is 5 to allow more one on one attention from our top notch coaches.
Private and semi-private lessons are also offered. Theory lessons are part of the semester package so students learn about the horses and their care as well as riding.

Group Lessons
Group lessons run for 1 hour (actual riding time). Grooming, Tacking up, and Untacking must be done before and after the lesson time. This allows our coaches the maximum amount of time to work with each student. Students in each group are matched up according to their riding ability and their goals so lessons can be planned accordingly.

School Horses and Ponies
MMEC has healthy, happy and safe horses and ponies for the students to ride. Each horse/pony has been fitted with their own saddle and bridle to ensure comfort for both horse and rider. Each school horse is only used a maximum of 2 or 3 hours each day to keep them fresh and every horse has at least one day of rest. School horses have daily turnout so they can have some recreation time to keep them happy. Vet and ferrier work is scheduled regularly to help maintain the school horses.

Rider Level Program
At Misty Meadows we also offer a MMEC Rider Level Program that follows closely to the OEF Rider Level Program. This allows students to set goals and work towards accomplishing the various levels in the program. Test days are usually once a semester and only students interested in completing the levels sign-up. This is a great way to test your equine skills.

Staff
MMEC staff are highly qualified for the jobs they are assigned. Each member of our team has been working/riding horses most of their life.

One of the coaches on staff is a certified Level 1 coach. Her background includes hunter/jumper experience and she more recently has competed in evening. Her dressage background helps start students with the basics of riding.

The other coach has extensive experience working with hunters and jumpers. Having worked with A circuit show barns her wealth of knowledge is second to none.
